If you want a simple, pointy-clicky asterisk install, try Asterisk@Home. Like Linux, Asterisk can be as confusing and intimidating as it is flexible and powerful. Fortunately, there are plenty of projects Like Asterisk@Home that wrap the scary bits in pretty clickable GUIs.
