Best Buy Sucks
For the record, I'd like to state that Best Buy officially sucks. I don't mean in merely a polite soda-straw slurping suck, I mean in a massive vortex-of-doom cosmic sense of sucking. Think about how bad Real Networks sucks, then multiply that suckage by a million.
Best Buy's scam is that they supposedly charge a little less than their competitors. Suppose you purchase something for $200. When you get to the register, they push this ''service plan'' of an extra $40. This obviously jacks the price up far more than their competitors' prices. Now, if you don't purchase their service plan, and your purchase breaks after 1 month, tough. Their stupidly stringent policy denies you any refund, exchange, or repair. You will not get your money back, or be able to return the broken device.
I hate Wal-Mart as much as the next guy, but in this case, I'd much rather pay an extra few bucks and be guaranteed that I could return a defective product.

Posted by: radiantbaby at June 30, 2001 11:06 PMI think you should give money to your little brother,Sam. And give hime lots of video games and a laptop computer.=]
Posted by: Bilbo Baggins at July 1, 2001 09:53 AMWHen it breaks after a month...That is a manufacturer warranty..You simply have to have the manufacturer fix it..How is that difficult?
Posted by: Beavis at December 14, 2003 08:18 PMThat's not the point, as a former emploee of BBY, the retailer should stand by the product that they sell, and a "superior" product that BBY sells should last more than 30 days.
Let's not forget the magazine subscriptions, and internet DVD subscrips, and everything else they'll offer you at the register, but won't give you the time of day on the sales floor.
Best Buy not only sucks but these people are so dishonest they are dangerous.....They have the worst personnel in the business, the worst computer technicians you can find and probably the worst management in the history of the computer business. My prediction: 5 years from now these people will file for bankruptcy when more customers will finally see how much that company sucks.
Posted by: Pat Carson at January 30, 2004 02:11 PMThat is why Best buy was voted by Forbs Magazine #1 over all Best Company in the USA!! So I think like some products that might be lemons .There are a few people that are bad lemons also. And by the way Sony only backs their items for 90 days... So Maybe you should hear them out. I think that they know a little more about the product then you, thats why you ask questions. And think about how you act. They don't come into your job kicking and yelling to get their way. So thanks A lot And Have a great Day
Posted by: So what at February 13, 2004 03:05 AMI work at a BB in Illinois. I work Loss Prev for the store, so I see everything that goes on. BB blows, they fire you if you talk bout how much you get paid, why, so that no one will ask for a raise. As soon as you start to get paid more, they try and drive you out, why so they can hire someone new to do the same job you were doing cept for cheaper. Wanna fuck BB, don't buy their PSP PRP and just make sure you take care of your shit, then if you are en emplyee there, stay there, don't let them drive you out, get the higher pay and make the fuckers pay you, and buy whatever you can the fucking sell it on e-bay, once you buy a product, it is yours, what are they gonna do, tell you what you can do with your own personal property? Guess they'd have to shut e-bay down.
Posted by: Jay at March 16, 2004 12:05 AMBB does suck. as a former loss preven.ee i stuck it to everyone at my out store, and got relatively rich in the process. I worked in one of the worst theft stores in the country(philly metro, holla) and controlled the cameras. I would set up distractions or picked out a thug anyone would think is stealing and have my clean-cut, suit wearing friends come in with receipts and service agreements in pocket. While focusing the "MOD's" attention on the distraction at hand, my friends would fleece the store in a methodical order. I made 20 g's in a month working an $8.00 an hour job part-time...wait a minute...BB rules
