I love
Kobun. AKA “Servbots.”
Kobun are those adorable, lovable, servient, well-meaning, intelligent, yet completely vacant little lego-men looking robots that serve the equally cute villianess Tron Bonne, in the whole Megaman Legends timeline.
(and also make a cameo appearance in Marvel Vs. Capcom 2…)
Well, turns out that Capcom of Japan’s “Fan Store” is now selling a whole range of Kobun-based Fan goods..
Unfortunately, they don’t ship out of the country, and I am unhappily broke regardless.
But mine own country of residence and misbegotten financial state aside, they’re just lovely little items that are, in all likelihood, the next best thing to actually having one of the little guys.
I’ve just finished reading “When True Night Falls“, by C.S. Friedman. It’s the second novel in the Coldfire Trilogy; sequel to “Black Sun Rising“, and I finished it in a grand total of four days. I’ll go so far as to say that this book is one of the primary causes of my current insomniac zombielike state.
I highly recommend the entire Trilogy to anyone who is a fan of Fantasy or Science Fiction; these books comprise the best of the genre. For more information, check out Merentha.org, the official C.S. Friedman fan site.
Well, I’m here at LinuxWorld in San Jose. It’s very odd – this place has so much of a Comdex-marketroid-brainless-boothbabe feel to it that it’s a bit disturbing. But that’s ok. I am getting some swag, but limiting myself to what I can take on a plane. =] And, I don’t need more tshirts. Gosh knows I have plenty.
PS: Continental Airlines can officially BITE ME. Nothing like running through Houston International, getting from gate B60 to C27 in 15 minutes. Grrrrr.
Son of Update!
I’ve gone through and fixed a few more things, such as the vertical alignment on subpages (like the About page). I corrected the way internal pages open, so the links in the System box now open in the main window. I’ve also changed the php script to serve up dynamically-generated pages. Now, when you click the links in the System, Archives, and Music boxes, you’re sending a query to the server, which serves up different center boxes based on your query. How cool is that?
When Atari Ireland closed, Andy “obtained” about four filing cabinets worth of documents, scanned them, and placed them online, just for you.
For those of you who haven’t experienced the true joy that is UNIX, I give you the Ohio State University’s
Introduction to Unix.
According to The Register, “Amazon.co.uk carries out no security checks on messages posted on its site by the authors of books it sells,” so people are signing on with bogus Hotmail accounts and posing as book authors.
Some will point to this as yet another reason not to trust the validity of information on the Web; I refer to a quote by some dead guy: “Never trust anything you see, and only half of what you read.”
Unxmaal: Let’s go to the mall.
ShadowStitch: I’m not going to the mall, unless it’s to get Seaman.
Unxmaal: I don’t want Seaman.
ShadowStitch: Everyone wants Seaman; they just don’t know it yet.
(Jokes about talking to Seaman and playing with Seaman tastefully excluded.)
