Elvish

Impressive resume-fodder: the ability to read, write, and speak in Elvish.

Evil

As suspected, I’m 101% evil. I add 1% because I lied for a few questions, just to get a perfect score.

MGS2

Jennifer Mauck won a contest and got her name listed in Metal Gear Solid 2.

Metal Gear Solid 2: 17 hours of lame cutscenes, 1 hour of gameplay.

Perl

Weird things are afoot on the mighty Unxmaal server. Every few days Perl apps [including Greymatter] appear to crash with a segmentation fault. The next day, these scripts work fine. In a fit of desperation, I attempted to install Moveabletype, only to have the base installer script segfault when it ran for the first time. Any ideas would be much appreciated.

Jingle This

Jingle Bells” was inspired by the annual sleigh races between Medford Square and Malden Square, and it was written by a rebellious musician with a bad reputation.

New Idea

Here’s my idea for the night: since my glasses keep slipping, I want to get magnets implanted in my nose, then put little magnets in the nosepads of my glasses. This way, no matter what, my glasses stay on.

A side benefit would be the ability to destroy credit cards with my nose.

Quicksearch

On Rick‘s recommendation, I installed Dave’s Quicksearch toolbar. I’m not entirely convinced of its utility, though I’ve not used it much yet.

I’m still quite happy with Opera‘s handling of search queries: in the address bar, type “g term1 term2” to search Google for the listed terms.

WinXP Time

When my wristwatch, the wallclock, my cellphone clock, and my PC laptop clock all showed different times, I knew something was up. According to this article, there was a Microsoft time server that wasn’t syncing properly. No problem, says I: add more timeservers with this little registry hack.
