Talking Hitler
If I had one of these Hitler dolls, I’d have to surgically implant one of those Barbie voice-chips. This way, Adolf could always squeak “Math is hard” and “Shopping is fun!”
Welcome to the Great Abbreviation Hunt.
FYI, NPA and NSX are telco codes for an area code and prefix of a telephone number.

It’s 5:30 in the morning, and Robert and I are considering our ages in hexadecimal. I blame Marcia for this, entirely.
Me: How old am I in hex?
Robert: Um.. ok, let’s see.. carry the one, divide by..
Me: Ok, I’m 1B.
Robert: You cheat. You used calc.exe.
Me: So? How old are you?
Robert: Hmm.. I’m.. how old is Jeff?
Me: What?! You can’t use Jeff as an age reference! When were you born?!
Robert: I can’t remember that far back..
Me: Jeff’s as old as my sister, and she was born in 1977.
Robert: I must be … dude, I’m 18!
Me: In hex.
In late 92 or 93, I remember seeing this weird reddish glow in the sky one night. It turned out to be an extremely intense Aurora Borealis display that reached as far south as Florida.
Apparently cellphones scare away ghosts. Or perhaps people are more interested in chatting on their cellphones than creating spooky hoaxes.
Hey Kids! It’s time for Fun Facts about the RIAA!
The RIAA considers copyright more important than the 1st Amendment.
Hilary Rosen, president of the RIAA, likes to have sex with women.
The RIAA has explained why CD prices are still so expensive.
The RIIA now wants legal authority to hack into your personal computer to look for illegally-obtained media.
Maybe you should think about this the next time you purchase a CD, or a DVD, or a movie ticket.
Somebody posted to NANOG a pretty useful tool for finding basic information on a telco central office given an NPA/NXX (that’s an area code / prefix pair for the unl33t).
I seem to remember a tool on speakeasy‘s pages that gave far more info, but it’s lost in the mists of memory. Should have blogged it.
In an effort to make this site more “cute” –and possibly attract more chicks– I present to you baby white lions.
Woohoo! Get your horns out for Halloween!
Photos are now available from the wedding of Roderick and Megan! They’re a handful of amateur snapshots, but you can get an early look if you missed the event. We got the proofs from the expert photographer and will soon place our order for professional imagery.
