MacBook Pro

I’ve been really excited by virtualization lately, so of course I’ve been drooling over the potential of the MacBook Pro.

I considered the Macbook, but decided I enjoyed the large screen and fast graphics of the Powerbook too much to give them up.

On Monday I sold my G4 Powerbook to a friend of mine, and ran to the Apple store to buy the MacBook Pro. I spent a full ten minutes explaining how I was buying one “today” to the spiky-haired Mac sales guy, who promptly walked off. I found another salesperson, named Sulgi Kim, who was very nice and gave me a discount on my .Mac subscription along with my new notebook.

Hooray for Dianne

Special thanks to Dianne, a Mini Advisor at Global Imports, for giving me a new cupholder. I lost count of the number of times I shifted into fifth and banged my hand on the old one.

Jimi Wallet

I consider this Jimi??????? wallet. I don’t really like the transparent plastic-ness of it, but I do like the size, and the fact that it forces you to carry less instead of more.

My wonderful Fossil front-pocket wallet, purchased in 1998, finally bit the dust several months ago. I searched several places for a replacement, only to find that Fossil stopped making that particular type. The only type they had left was actually too small, with barely any room at all.

Fixing FireFox’s Stupid.

Ever tried to send a file attachment via Gmail using FireFox, and gotten the really annoying “unresponsive script” popup every five seconds?

You can fix that by going to ‘about:config’ and modifying dom.max_script_run_time to something reasonable, like 60000 seconds.
