For everyone who has ever wondered what the real meaning is behind the anime-that-kicks-you-in-the-head-yes-even-more-than-Akira, Neon Genesis Evangelion, check out Toastyfrog’s Summary of Eva Episode 26, which is basically a overly artsy-fartsy Hideaki Anno getting symbolic on our asses.
Read it, and think, “You know, that literal interpretation of the symbolism was right all along. I was a fool to compare Eva to something as overly complex and intellectually grasping as the Qabalah…”
And if it piques your interest, don’t bother reading 40 different webpages that all copied the info from each other; click here for a nice concise list of pretty much every theory currently held in the internet community, regarding EVA symbolism.
Thanks to Riothero, I discovered that fucknbc.com does in fact exist, and it points to CBS.com. Furthermore, fuckcbs.com exists, too, and, you guessed it, it points to NBC.com . “What the?” I did a whois, and found this:
whois -h whois.corenic.net fucknbc.com …

High Flying Adored is another Alabama Blog, run by Heather Lokey. I like Heather’s color choices, and the picture at the top is neat. I also think “Lokey” is a neat surname. I’d be forced to change it to Loki though, just because I’m a damn freak.
The Hubble Heritage Project collects some amazing pictures taken by the Hubble Space Telescope.
Meep! Joseph says that the surf’s so bad in Hawaii right now that they’re reporting sizes in small dog proportions!
Don’t ask why or how, simply cower at the sinister PEZ?? copyright notice….
Robert Cringely asks perhaps the most thought-provoking question about the FBI’s new Carnivore system: “why the box?“
Good question. Carnivore is supposedly designed to be a sniffer, checking all inbound and outbound packets and forwarding those from badguys to the Feds. Um, guess what, people… routers do this all the time. That’s what routers do: look at packets and decide where they go. As Cringely says, “adding the Carnivore task is a simple matter of blind copying every packet to or from a bad guy to a third address at the J. Edgar Hoover FBI Building in Washington, DC. It’s at most a few lines of code and requires no additional hardware. ”
Can I congratulate Kevin yet? His job search has shown good fruits:
Shadowstitch: I had to talk to the 3 fates today
Buckethead RM: Yes, that’s a good thing.
Buckethead RM: woohoo
Shadowstitch: the Rendering, Art, and Development spirits
Buckethead RM: and?
Shadowstitch: I KNOW I got the developing and rendering guys on my side
Buckethead RM: Art guys are gay anyway. 🙂
Shadowstitch: NUH UH!
Shadowstitch: Well maybe
Buckethead RM: haha
Shadowstitch: I like boobies too much to be gay
Yippee! It looks like Bel Canto’s Images album will be released in the US. If you haven’t heard of Bel Canto, you’re missing out on one of the most hauntingly beautiful Progressive/Post-Modern singers in the world. I highly recommend two older albums, Birds of Passage and Shimmering, Warm, & Bright, as this band’s defining work. Look here for a sample from Anneli Drecker’s latest solo album.
Of course, you could just Napster it, but I’m not the kind of person to urge you to do illicit things.
Do you like to look at pretty pictures?
Here, you can find photographs of everything from the arctic (and antarctic) wastes, to massive tornadoes, in huge, high-res photographs. And the best part, it’s free!!
